Russian trolls are trying to separate the unity that we have here in America. Their job as trolls is
to cause as much influence and damage at the same time to disrupt the credibility of our American system.
This effects our society in a negative way because of how it twists the news that we are supposed to be
getting by stating false information that favors Russia in some way. Even if their attempt to divide us
fails, we still fall under the notion that we shouldn't believe what social media or the government tries
to say to its citizens. These trolls also want to get support from ingenuous Americans to help them spread
even more political lies to others.

Russians are targeting social media because of how effective ads can be on the platform. Anyone is a
possible target because of how common social media usage takes place in everyone's lives. The Russian trolls
are trying to influence as many of us Americans as they can to divide us in our political viewpoints and beliefs.
If a social media user even gets a glance at a Russian troll ad, they are already influenced by whatever info
they stuck into your head.

The most obvious way to prevent influence from Russian trolls is to not use social media at all.
For daily social media users, try to recognize if it's trying to influence in a negative way. Then
just ignore it and report the ads and fake accounts. Even though total protection is not possible,
we must protect ourselves as best as we can.
